Mr. Vasant Bande did his masters in Physics in first division from Vikram University in 1964 and then completed in 1965 a special post MSc one year course in Optics started by I.I.T.(Delhi) that year. 

Mr. Bande has  joined QuantaLase in 2005  to set up a modern optics shop where he can take up fabrication of special optics and optical instruments for Defence R&D, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space etc.

Mr. Vasant bande has worked in several optics laboratories and  optics industries for nearly fifty years. He joined Central Scientific Instruments Organization ( CSIO, Chandigarh) , a laboratory of CSIR, where he worked for five years on various optical instruments for defence. Later he joined I.I.T. ( Madras)  for two years to work on design of optical instruments. But his most remarkable contributions are in optics industry.  He has joined many  optics industries which were struggling to survive and  transformed them into modern profit making concerns. The industries include General Optics, Pondichery  an export oriented unit, where he worked for five years .Today General Optics has large export orders from Europe and USA. Mr. Bande then joined the newly started Labotron at Ambala, also an export oriented unit , and  established their optical shop. Within a short time Labatron, under his able guidance, was manufacturing microscopes for one of world‘s leading microscope manufacturer in U.S.A. Today Labatron has large export orders for microscopes and other optical instruments.Mr. Vasant Bande then joined Astro Optical, again a new industry and helped them set up optics shop and coating facilities. He worked with Astro Optics for nearly five years .

He then came to Indore and started a small optical workshop to take up specialised optics jobs. His optical shop was soon able to make large diameter mirrors of metal and semiconductors for Defence R&D. His capabilities as an optics designer had been noticed by Dept of Atomic Energy and DRDO who had asked him to design and manufacture special optical instruments which will work in radioactive environment.
